"I've known Jim for over 30 years and during that time (at
Minster Agriculture, Cargill Technical Services and at Belmont Management Consultants) we have worked together on a
wide range of rural development assignments. Jim's practical background, wide and varied experience and his professional approach continue to add value to the assignments he
undertakes. It is always a pleasure to work with and /or for him." October 26, 2011. Wayne
Borden, Senior Land Resource Specialist, Minster Agriculture / Cargill Technical Services
Contribution to Developing Slow Food in Romania "I am writing to say that starting from February 1st I will no longer work with Slow Food in Bra. I would like to say that it was a
pleasure to work with you on the development of Romanian Slow Food all these years, and I thank you for your experience, time, patience and knowledge that you dedicated to make it
grow. You have been a linking point for many years who helped to achieve the most part of what Slow Food is in Romania today. I wish you best of luck for the food company project,
and I'm very much hoping that our paths will cross again soon. Best wishes" April 1, 2011. Lilia Smelkova, Program Director, Slow Food International
"Jim Turnbull was a senior director at Cargill Technical Services
during my tenure. He was instrumental in the expansion of the company and indeed was the backbone of the business.
Jim was then and remains now the quintessential development specialist with a highly professional commitment to this industry. He is an excellent manager. He has a reputation for
great honesty and straight dealing combined with a deep understanding of every aspect of development, especially in the agricultural and agribusiness sectors. I recall my time working
with Jim with pleasure and would be delighted to work with him again." January 16, 2011. Geoff Quartermaine Bastin, Regional Manager, Asia and Pacific, Cargill Technical
Services, Cargill Asia-Pacific Ltd.
"I have worked closely with Jim on many consulting assignments since 2003, either as
member of his team or as Team Leader reporting to him as MD of Belmont Management Consultants Ltd. During this period we covered a range of projects ranging from helping
SMEs in UK with business plans to complex strategic development reports abroad for international clients. As a consultant myself for some 30 years, I am impressed by the depth
and breadth of Jim's experience gained from working as a consultant here and abroad and his analytical and incisive approach to assignments. However, what impresses me most is the
enthusiastic, dedicated and ethical way he undertakes every job which makes working with him always exciting and a pleasure. The quality of his performance is illustrated by the fact
that he received an award a few years ago from Business Expertise for his pioneering conservation and development work in Transylvania, Romania ." July 04 2010. Murray Pringle, Owner, Salama Ltd
