Framework Agreement on Market Development
The consortium led by the Swedish firm "SIPU International" (formerly the Swedish
Government Institute for Public Administration), which includes BMC as an Associated Partner, have recently won the contract for the SIDA's "Framework Agreement on Market Development".
The Consortium - which also includes ORGUT Consulting AB (Sweden) and Adam
Smith International (UK) – will become a Service Provider to SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency). The purpose of the Framework Agreement is to
provide a range of expertise that SIDA can draw on for support to their projects and programmes within the thematic area of "market development" in the target
countries of SIDA. The services will include short and long term assignments and these "call-off" assignments will be available to all SIDA's departments and
development cooperation departments of Swedish Embassies.
The Framework Contract is for an initial period of 2 years, extendable for a further two years
BMC Ltd will be able to provide senior consultant inputs in thematic areas such as:
Trade Development, Business Environment, SME Development, Local Economic Development, Environmental Compliance, Micro & Rural Finance, Market
Development, EU's Trade Policies & Regulations, WTO Framework, Community Development, etc.. Edwin Vera will be the BMC project manager. The Fresh Produce Exporters Advisory Service has been launched to offer a range

Talking Shop & TAA Specialist Agribusiness Group
The aim of Talking Shop is to meet monthly for a pint and a sandwich, share tales of
travel, successful projects and disasters, topical issues, IT tips, business opportunities and more. The objectives are to improve networking and to overcome one of the
major problems facing those of us who no longer work in a large organisations - the need for regular contact with like minded consultants.
Jim Turnbull is convener of the TAA (Tropical Agriculture Association) Specialist
Agribusiness Group. The aim of the Agribusiness Group is to build on these monthly Talking Shop meetings, and to attract new participants from within the TAA
membership who are interested in the commercial aspects of development. It is hoped that real business opportunities will emerge to the mutual benefit of those
